About Mike

Originally from an Engineering family background and now 40ish, I re-trained studying for an RHS Cert over 10 years ago, set up Shire Gardens and have been running the business ever since. The nature of the business has changed over the years from Gardening to the creation of Landscapes and Structures. The specialisation of working with timber has come about as a result of experience and preference. I have built a reputation for the high quality of workmanship of which I am very proud.

My methods of construction of decks have been developed over this 10-year period and with my engineering background (and a little artistic flair!), I now have a formula for building decks, which creates a product of a higher quality than others seem to achieve!

As well as running the business, I am also trained as an ambulance responder within my local community and in my spare time am a keen Motorcycle Trials Rider (see links)
